I posted the chapter 5 update yesterday. I will spend the next few days planning the next chapter and fixing any bugs that crops up in the meantime. I've created this post to primarily promoted this recent update as well as start a discussion towards the events surrounding the story and characters. If anyone wants to talk about anything, be free to post here.

Finally got to this, so here's my sleepy rambling commentary/questions. This was a really fun chapter so far. "Hermina: Talking about diaries..."You got me. That was pretty funny. And I laughed at this too. Wait, uh, is... ...Oh. Huh. Now I feel twice as bad for my earlier confusion (I assumed he was a girl, until his name was revealed, just because I didn't know warlocks could exist, and even then I just assumed he just had a masculine name). At least the title (Witches of St. Sayuri) makes sense now, and it makes Arthur as a character feel less out of place. The start of the first combat of Chapter 5 was actually really cool; I didn't know you could do that. Do you lose if Aika is defeated in Forest? I didn't. The gym battle was awesome (but utterly one-sided), and the way it worked out was completely unexpected to me (that's not how I interpreted the planning scene from Chapter 4 at all, so it was kind of a cool reveal). It feels a bit like there's a missing cutscene after the bath scene; nobody actually explains why the next stage is the gym until you start it. It doesn't need to be much; just someone mentioning getting ready for the party would be fine. Magical weaning: I have trouble comprehending how anyone could view borderline miraculous magical power as a bad thing, but then I'm not a witch. Is there a story here, besides the obvious internal envy and external distrust that would seem somewhat inevitable if you're that powerful? It seems like getting rid of the magic doesn't really solve the underlying problems (that witches are kind of catty and often have trouble getting along, and people don't trust things which they don't understand). Am I overthinking this? It's an interesting idea to explore. Not much else to say; I'm still enjoying the little references and the slowly-developing Shizuka-Aika dynamic. Taking a break now, just after finishing Gymnasium; will resume at Woodland Cemetery in a day or two.P.S. "Arthur: Now, if only I could find my brother..." Me: Have you tried looking for a sister instead? You know, if you're looking here... "Blanka: No big bad monsters are getting in here! Not with me around!" Me: Just cute sexy monsters then?

Huh. So, I just finished Chapter 5. My last post makes a lot less sense now. You actually had me fooled. Or, Miyuki did? I actually believed for a while that despite being the heir of the Lich Queen, and a murderous supremacist, this particular time she had nothing to do with it and she was just working on the actual party preparations. That was way more indirect than I expected (given the general humorous semi-incompetence of the rest of the student council, it wouldn't surprise me if they really did let another necromancer sneak in), and Bianca being friends with Miyuki threw me for a loop as well.
Overall, I really enjoyed this chapter. A couple of the areas were a bit on the big side, but I guess that's kinda necessary when the party is that big...

I-I don't know what you're talking about.... *Innocent whistling!*
At least he's not pretending to be a man for a flimsy excuse to govern a island of girls who transform into weapons by getting, *ahem*, stimulated.
I'll put that on my to do list (hopefully it will get done sooner than it will take for me to get around writing a tutorial for the first battle of the game. -///-')
Eventually I'll need to include a cut scene that actually takes place in the middle of an actual class (*gasp*!) that will explain why witches are being magically depowered. Expect certain characters to be either fast asleep, skipping the class entire or otherwise unable to follow the lesson.
I-I don't know what you're talking about.... *Eyes shift back and forth*
In other words, practically most of the monsters on this island?
I'm sure when she's not scheming, Miyuki spends a lot of time actually trying to a respectable member of society (at least as much of one of as she can be within the limits of her less than healthy upbringing.) Also, the next few chapters will demonstrate there are forces out to kill the heroes beyond Team Rocket the student council.

I'm sure when she's not scheming, Miyuki spends a lot of time actually trying to a respectable member of society Right! I got the same feeling from her (probably because of the cosplay magazine and the way she puts on a good 'normal' act). That's why the Chapter 5 ending caught me off-guard - I actually thought the student council were taking a break from sending monsters to attack the heroes- Wait, they really are Team Rocket. Right! I mean, the words 'big bad monster' only really call to mind Warwolves. ...And I guess Impresses probably deserve a mention. Since neither of those got in, I suppose Blanka kept her word. I actually assumed Blanka was some kind of monster until the party. I don't really have a witty comment here, I'm just... bemused. I'm enjoying this back and forth. P.S. Glad to see you're still around, and I'm sorry I took a month to get to chapter 5. I think I'm going to mess around in chapter 4 for a while now, where the stat-ups and the cards are unlocked... maybe I'll see if I can beat Chapter 5 with only a sufficiently powerful Shizuka and Aika.
